A Window to the Fatherland

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We continue the program with talking to our special guest of every Thursday, Dr. Mohsen Sazegara, for his views about news of Iran and the Middle East.

In my view the result of the Israeli elections must be analyzed further as only two days before it Netanyahu himself had indicated that he might not win in it. However, with his victory, we can see that the once secular democrat system of governance in Israel is edging more towards a right wing religious system, similar to the Islamic government in Iran.

Or may be we should not be surprised to see his victory when the missiles in Tehran carry the slogan of “Death to Israel”!

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

Before anything else I wish to caution my fellow flood hit Iranians in the province of Khuzestan that more heavy rain is expected in the region on Saturday and Sunday as Ahwaz is now submerged in water.

Naturally the news of US designating the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization is welcomed and I believe more good news for our people is on its way in the coming weeks.

As for Netanyahu, he has fully capitalized on Trump’s popularity in Israel as Washington has now transferred its embassy to Jerusalem and has supported Israel’s claim that the Golan heights are part of their country.

The US decision on the Guards is very significant as it is not a bluff to scarethem. Previously the US used to condemn the Guards as supporting terrorism and causing instability in the region, but now they have labeled it direct as aforce that is involved in killing people inside and outside Iran.

However, I do not believe this move will result in a military confrontation between the Revolutionary Guards and the US forces.
