Behind the Headlines – Friday 16 August 2019

Jamshid Chalangi:

Tonight we will look at the following news topics:

As the extent of corruption among the top officials of the regime becomes more evident, it is now reported that Salar Aghakhani has fled Iran and gone to the city of Najaf in Iraq with tens of millions of cash that he had received as loan from Iran’s Central bank;

Reports say that the oil tanker Grace 1 has been released, but what guarantees has Tehran given to the UK government?

House prices in Tehran and its suburbs have increased suddenly.

Khamenei has asked for an increase in Iran’s population. What is his objective behind this demand?

Who benefits most from Iran losing a major chunk of its shares from the newly signed legal status of the Caspian Sea?

Saad Hariri of Lebanon has been to Washington. What discussions has he had with the US officials?

And reports say Israel and the United Arab Emirate have held secret talks about regional issues. What have they talked about with regard to Iran?

Our guests tonight to discuss these issues are Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh and Atta Houdashtian.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Our country is a captive of a bunch of thieves and bandits who claim to be religious people. When one of these thieves so easily boards a plane in Tehran with a suitcase of millions of dollars of stolen cash and safely arrives inNajaf then you can imagine what type of regime is ruling our people.

In a country that $800 billion revenue from oil during the eight years of Ahmadinejad’s rule goes missing, his master Khamenei is telling us that Iran is progressing towards a glorious future!!

For him nothing really matters except to keep his status as the supreme leader and meets with the delegations of the Houthis of Yemen and militias of Iraq andthen his assistants pays millions of dollars of cash to these delegations on their way out.

The only mission of this regime is to destroy Iran and when he goes the 200 million populations would not even have any water to drink.

Atta Houdashtian:

As opposition groups we need to employ groups of local lawyers in Europe and Canada to sue those elements of the regime who have fled Iran with millions of stolen money and confiscate their wealth which belongs to the Iranian people.
