A Window to the Fatherland

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We continue the program with talking to our special guest of every Thursday, Dr. Mohsen Sazegara, but before that we are sorry to announce the sudden death of our journalist colleague Ahmad Reza Dalvand and doffer our condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

I am of course very sad to hear the news of thelate Dalvand’s passing. I used to get to know him while working at Adineh, Donyaye Sokhan and Film Magazines.

He was a very happy man and always an inspiration to his colleagues. He always encouraged the young people to do more in life and to lose him at the age of 60 is really sad.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Ismail Bakhshi of the Haft Tapeh sugar factory’s workers union has been freed from prison but at the same time political prisoner Vahid Sayadi has died after being on hunger strike for more than 60 days.

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

Vahid Sayadi had been on hunger strike on two occasions and I am a bit doubtful if he has died of his hunger strike because in these cases the authorities usually put the prisoner on emergency drips to keep him alive. I fear he may have been killed by the regime but blaming his death on hunger strike.

The Iranian workers’ protest strikes are now leading the general struggle of the nation against the regime as their action has entered its 33rd day without any respite.

We have seen some of the workers marching on the streets wearing white shrouds, meaning they are ready to die for their cause rather than accept the regime’s policies.
