A Window to the Fatherland

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

I have said this many times before that I believe Seyed Ali Khamenei committed a political suicide by succeeding Khomeini as the supreme leaders.

He was brought up in a decent family and his mother used to look after his children with a great deal of financial difficulties but close friends likeRafsanjani and others in the city of Mashad used to help them make the endsmeet.

Losing his past clean record he has now gained more than $90 billion as the holder of the account of Imam’s Operations Charity, but in the process he has morphed from a flying butterfly into a frog that is stuck in the muds of corruptionassociated with despotic power.

When I was at the Ettelaat daily there was this man who had written on the wall of my office that those who do not agree with Khomeini being an Imam should leave this newspaper.

I asked him if he was a true Shia Muslim believer and he said yes. I told him why does he then believe in another Imam when his religion tells him specifically that there will be none of them after the twelfth one?

We had to deal with these types of ignorant people in the old regime that was doing its best to modernize Iranian society.

Our then national army and armed forces unlike the Revolutionary Guards of today were not trained to kill the likes of Neda and Mohsen and torture our youngpeople in the Kahrizak detention centers.

In brief, by changing the old regime with the current one in the Islamic revolution we substituted progress for regression.

And as the late poet Naderpour has correctly said, with the arrival of the Islamic republic regime one full chapter of our history was closed and a new one that seeks making Iran another country started.
