A Window to the Fatherland

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr Alireza Nourizadeh:

We continue the program with talking to our special guest of every Thursday, Dr. Mohsen Sazegara, for his views about news of Iran and the Middle East.

But before that I wish to offer my sincere condolences to our colleague Mr Hassan Shariatmadari for the passing of his sister.

The family had requested to bury her next to her late father, the grand ayatollah Shariatmadari, yubut it is reported that Khamenei has objected to the idea as it would once again revive the memory of ayatollah Shariatmadari’s opposition to the regime.

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

I also offer my condolences to the Shariatmadari family.

This regime is more scared of the dead people than the living people, as we have seen in the case of the discovered mummified body of Reza Shah last year. They are even scared of burying a dead woman next to her father.

I was extremely incensed to see that the Iraqi militias have been raising their country’s flag over the soil of our land which has been marked by the blood of our youth shed by the Saddam army,

These militias are nothing short of war criminals and by organising their entry into our motherland Ghassem Soleimani has once again proved that he has no feelings for Iran and is equally a war criminal.

Some of these militias have long been stationed in Tehran and major cities since the Green Movement and what we see now is just increasing their numbers by many folds.

The regime’s tactic by brining more of them into our country is to try to defy public’s slogan of “leave Syria, look after our own interests”.

I believe the main reason for the arrival of these militias into Iran is related to the post-Khamenei era in which Soleimani and the Guards will be one of the contenders to fill his position of power.

The Quds Brigade under Soleimani has only around 15000 members who are mainly involved in drug smuggling and intelligence gathering activities and are not regarded as a real fighting force.

By bringing thousands of Iraqi and Lebanese militias into Iran Soleimani is trying to strengthen his forces to be ready for any eventuality in case the succession process to Khamenei is not that peaceful.
