A Window to the Fatherland

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Iran’s former Foreign Minister Sadegh Kharazi has said that all Iranians “love the Revolutionary Guards”.

We remind him if Neda Agha Sultan was his niece and had been killed by the Guards would he still “love” them?

When ayatollah Khomeini returned to Iran the late Shahpour Bakhtiar had correctly said that his government could not provide protection for him as any insaneperson could pose a danger to his life.

The Iranian army at the time would have never doe such a thing as it was a nationalist and patriotic army.

As such a group of people with checked political and social background had set up a committee to provide protection for Khomeini. They later formed the main circle of what ha snow become the Revolutionary Guards.

May of their members today are decent Iranians who have joined the force for financial needs. But the Guards leadership has gradually turned into a conglomerate of business owners and they are closely connected to the household of Khamenei.

Many of them have been behind the many assassinations of Iranian opposition leaders and must be brought to justice.
