A Window to the Fatherland

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

The MP for the town of Ardabil in Iran’s Majles, Mirzadeh, has turned the grave of his father into a “shrine”!

He claims that his father had been a good person and deserves to be worshipped!!! There are 80 million good Iranians too and the MP’s action indicates to what extent of hypocrisy this regime has resorted to deceive our people through superstition and turn them into a money making machine.

Religion is a very personal thing and for centuries our people had respected their true religious leaders and even celebrated some of our national festivals by visiting their tombs and shrines.

But today and under the current regime they have been forced to believe in superstitious “religious beliefs” which are nothing more than an attempt to buy legitimacy for the regime.

The trade union leader and labour activist Ismail Bakhshi has openly said that he has been tortured while in detention but the regime’s judiciary says that torture has no place in its treatment of detainees.

Instead, the authorities say that what Bakhshi has gone through is called “Tazeer”, which is a polite name for torture!

Once upon a time the former head of regime’s judiciary Dr. Beheshti had said that in the Islamic republic’s jails prisoners would only receive care and respect according to Islam’s teachings.

He should have been around today to see for himself that how the top corrupt and brutal officials of the judiciary actually take part in the torturing of prisoners in Iran and enjoy doing it.

There have been reports of a young 20 years old Iranian university student who has been tortured by the likes of Ebrahim Raeesi, Mohseni Ejeie and Nayeri, for only daring to read some books that are not to the liking of the regime.
