We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
In tonight’s program we speak to Dr. Kamran Borokhim who would give us a short biography of his life that includes his close friendship with the late ayatollah Taleghani.
Dr. Kamran Borokhim:
I graduated from the Tehran University in 1968 as a general practitioner and then went to serve my national military service.
Later I was transferred to the steel factory inIsfahan and served as the head o their clinic. We employed several female staff that would act as health specialists. I was later became the head of Iranshahr hospital.
We are originally from the city of Nahavand andfrom a Jewish family. I have also served as the head of the Jewish hospital in south Tehran.
I was n duty when the 17th Shahrivarincident happened during the revolution and can safely say that it is a lie that many people were killed in that incident.
It was there that I met with ayatollah Taleghani who was very kind to us. He was the first person to oppose the executions of the former regime officials and had written an open letter to this effect.
His death was a complete surprise as he only suffered from a mild diabetic condition.
I wish one day they will make a documentary film about his life as if he had lived long enough Iran had fallen into the dreadful situation that it is now.
